National Honor Society (NHS): The National Honor Society's objective is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in all students of Allendale High School. Membership is by invitation and application, with evaluation on four levels: academics, service, character and leadership. NHS sponsors several annual events including Senior Citizen's Day and Blood Drives. Faculty advisors - Ms. Robin Kline and Mr. Mike Sispera
Rotary Interact:The AHS RotaryInteractClub is a service organization sponsored by the adultRotaryClub of Allendale. The AHSRotaryInteractClub sets up and participates in fund raising and community service projects for both local and world organizations to make a difference in people's lives. You will have an opportunity to lead / join committees to make these projects happen and participate in as many as possible. The club typically has 2 meetings per month (one during a meeting period and one after school). Attendance is expected at meetings unless previously excused. Starting in 2017, club members had the opportunity to take a service trip to El Salvador to build houses in the community of Talnique, El Salvador. Equestrian: The equestrian club welcomes all students with a horse and trailer to compete. Students without mounts can participate as groomers and a support team. The Equestrian team attends district competitions, attends the Horse Expo, and goes for group trail rides. Practices are Wednesday or Thursday evenings from April (weather permitting) through the end of our competition season: 6-8:30 at Kline's corral 10774 26th Avenue NW GR MI 49534 Organizer and Leader - Ms. Robin Kline.
Robotics: The robotics team is the hardest fun you'll ever have in a sport. The team is responsible for planning, prototyping, designing, building, programming, wiring, testing, redesigning, rebuilding, and more over the course of one 6 week period at the beginning of each new year, with a very specific game released each year on the first weekend of January. Science Olympiad: Science Olympiad is a huge commitment. It involves studying for an event for several months to compete against the other schools in the state. The season involves nearly daily study sessions, all night events, and competition days. The best part of Science Olympiad is competitions. We are often traveling and are able to hang with some of our closest friends. At the end of the day, studying is always worth it to be able to look back on a job well done with a medal around your neck.
Snowsports Club: The Snowsports club is a non-competitive ski/snowboard group that meets numerous times a year at the Bittersweet lodge. Both middle schoolers and high schoolers are welcome to join. APS provides bus transportation to and from the ski area. Make the most out of winter by joining the Snowsports club. If you're interested in joining make sure to stay tuned during the winter months and pick up your sign up sheet in the office.
Art Club: Art Club is an open and welcoming space for students who are interested in art, photography, or graphic design. It is an opportunity for students to try different projects that they normally wouldn't do in their art classes. Each meeting period there will be a different project to try. Come spend time in the art room and get to know the other student artists, photographers, and designers in your school!
TableTop Gaming Club: TableTop Gaming Club (T2GC) is open to all students who wish to join! Come play board games outside the norm: Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, & 7 Wonders just to name a few! (sorry, we DON'T play video games!) Play RPG games, like D&D! Monthly parties where we eat pizza and sweets! Hang out with other students in a safe and welcoming place! Gaming club meets Tuesday after school from 2:40 to 4 pm. You can ride the late bus home, just sign up after school in the media center! See Mr. Konczal in room 416 or email konczalbob@apsfalcons.net.
